Butler Rose is delighted to be supporting a successful and growing manufacturing business in Somerset with the recruitment of a Finance Director.
This is a key appointment within the organisation, reporting directly to the Managing Director. We are seeking an experienced finance leader who can provide both strategic direction and hands-on financial leadership, helping to drive profitability, support growth plans and enhance operational performance.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted business partner to the Managing Director, providing commercial insight, strategic challenge and financial expertise across all areas of the business.

Partner with the Managing Director and leadership team to support strategic planning and business growth initiatives.

Provide financial leadership and commercial insight to support decision-making across the organisation.

Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities, ensuring clear visibility of business performance.

Deliver high-quality management information and reporting to support operational and strategic objectives.

Monitor cash flow, working capital and overall financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities.

Support investment decisions through financial analysis, modelling and commercial evaluation.

Work closely with operational teams to improve profitability, efficiencies and business performance.

Ensure robust financial controls, compliance and governance are maintained across the business.

Manage key relationships with banking partners, auditors and external advisers.

Lead and develop a small finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
About You-
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.

Proven experience as a Finance Director, Head of Finance, or senior Financial Controller operating at leadership level.

Strong manufacturing experience, ideally gained within food manufacturing, FMCG or a similar production-led environment.

Demonstrable experience partnering with senior leadership teams and influencing strategic business decisions.

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial information into actionable business insight.

Excellent budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and cash flow management skills.

Experience managing working capital, treasury activities, and banking relationships.

Proven track record of leading and developing finance teams.

Hands-on approach with the ability to balance strategic leadership and operational delivery.

Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to build effective relationships across operational, commercial, and finance functions.
