Express Solicitors is entering an exciting phase of sustained growth, and our Clinical Negligence Department is expanding as a result of continued success and strong marketing performance. We are currently experiencing a significant increase in new clinical negligence instructions and are therefore seeking to recruit an additional lawyer to join our team.

Responsibilities
Managing a caseload of Clinical Negligence claims from cradle to grave
Conducting thorough legal research and providing sound legal advice to clients
Preparing and drafting legal documents, including pleadings and witness statements
Negotiating settlements and representing clients in court when necessary
Working in a target driven, fast paced environment
Collaborating with colleagues to ensure the successful outcome of cases.
Keeping up to date with changes in relevant laws and regulations
Person Specification
We are seeking a qualified and motivated lawyer with 1–3 years’ PQE, CILEx qualification, or who is qualified by experience, to join our Clinical Negligence team. The successful candidate will demonstrate tenacity, enthusiasm, and strong technical ability, alongside a genuine commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for clients.
You will manage a varied caseload of clinical negligence matters, including both pre-issue and issued cases, typically valued up to £100,000 (although more complex cases are available for the right candidate). You must have clinical negligence experience and be able to work for candidates with empathy and understanding.
A key and rare opportunity within this role is the chance to work closely with the Head of Department, assisting on high-value and catastrophic injury clinical negligence claims, including birth injury cases
Salary & Hours
A basic salary of up to £50,000 depending on experience. Along with a very generous commission scheme, paid monthly in arrears.
Our standard working hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday-Thursday and 8:30am to 5pm Friday. There is a degree of flexibility which can be discussed at interview.
