Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to oversee daily kitchen operations in a dynamic hospitality environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing food production, ensuring food safety standards, and leading a team of kitchen staff. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
- Manage food safety protocols, including hygiene practices and allergen controls, in compliance with health regulations
- Organise and monitor inventory levels, ensuring the timely ordering of supplies and ingredients
- Assist in training new team members and providing ongoing coaching to develop skills and efficiency
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained properly and report any faults or repairs needed
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Enforce health and safety policies within the kitchen environment
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Excellent team management and leadership abilities, capable of motivating staff under pressure
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulations
- Experience in food presentation and culinary arts, with a passion for quality cuisine
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Previous hospitality or restaurant experience is highly desirable
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management
- Knowledge of serving procedures and customer service principles within a hospitality context
