Engineering is at the very core of what we do. Be it civil, mechanical or electrical, our hybrid engineers work both remotely and on-site, playing a practical, hands-on role in the successful delivery of projects.
MMB has been working with Yorkshire Water since MMB's creation in 1999, delivering a huge variety of projects - from restoring and upgrading picturesque reservoirs, to installing the latest technology to provide clean drinking water or treat sewerage to protect rivers - we've done it all. We have several frameworks with Yorkshire Water and remain a delivery partner in AMP8, keeping our team of over 300 people busy for years to come.
As an Electrical Engineer you'll work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and our communities - from improving flood defences, to upgrading water treatment works and providing nature-based solutions that improve biodiversity. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the electrical functions throughout the lifecycle of various projects. From concept design to commissioning, you will ensure that all electrical aspects are meticulously considered and integrated.
The role of an Electrical Engineer includes:

Support the design, installation and commissioning of electrical systems, including LVDBs and MCCs

Assist with pre‑construction activities such as surveys and site management
-
Manage construction tasks including outage planning, subcontractor coordination, programme management and electrical safety (working toward AP status)

Prepare and review RAMS and lead Quality Assurance activities, including inspection/test plans, acceptance documents, training materials and completion records
-
Drive BS7671 compliance and manage projects through to “As‑Constructed” status and final documentation

Deliver functional commissioning of electrical assets

Mentor Apprentices and Graduate Electrical Engineers
What you’ll need:
-
CSCS, ECS or JIB
-
HNC / Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
-
Experience of working to electrical procedures, including providing Electrical Permits
-
Understand civil engineering principles and practices
-
Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
-
A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
What would be desirable:
-
Understanding of civil engineering and MEICA construction
-
Awareness of Client and WIMES standards
-
Experience with process technologies and water‑industry assets
-
Suitable for those with supervisory experience in electrical installation
-
SSSTS, SMSTS or equivalent safety training
