Painter & Decorator Wanted – Self-Employed
We are looking for several experienced Painters & Decorators to join our team on a self-employed basis.
Most of our work is on residential projects and we are looking for reliable individuals who can deliver high-quality work and follow the correct preparation process from start to finish, working on their own or as part of a team ( your own ).
Type of Work
This is piecework / price work, meaning each project is agreed at a fixed price before starting, rather than being paid based on how many hours or days it takes.
Please note:
- Agreed prices are based on the visible scope of work before starting.
- Extra costs may apply in unforeseen circumstances, such as plaster damage found after wallpaper removal or other hidden issues discovered during the works.
- Payment remains in the region of £250.00 – £300.00 per day equivalent, depending on output and project value.
- Cash payment can sometimes be arranged where appropriate.
What We Need
Applicants must have good experience in:
- Repairs and making good
- Surface preparation
- Filling and sanding
- Painting and decorating to a high standard
All work must follow a proper standard operating procedure, including:
- Full surface protection to avoid damage to customer belongings
- Filling imperfections properly
- Sanding surfaces correctly
- Applying paint neatly and professionally
- Leaving the property clean and tidy afterwards
Requirements
- Good experience as a Painter & Decorator
- Ability to produce quality work consistently
- Must be able to work independently and manage assigned jobs
- Must speak at least a medium level of English
- Must have own car / transport
- Must hold a valid driving licence
A car is essential because for around 90% of jobs, materials need to be collected for the client. We can organise collections from decorating centres, but transport is required.
