Cut-Out Inspector - Temporary role for 4 months
Socialcru LTD, are seeking a Merseyside / Cheshire based meticulous and detail-oriented Cut-Out Inspector to join our field team. This critical role involves inspecting electrical cut-outs at customer properties to ensure safety, compliance, and proper functioning within the DNO's network. About the Role:
As a Cut-Out Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting on-site inspections of electrical cut-outs at residential and commercial properties. This involves:
- Visually inspecting cut-outs for defects such as:
- Cracks or damage to insulating materials
- Corrosion or damage to metal components
- Signs of overheating or arcing
- Improper wiring or connections
- Incorrect fuse ratings
- Missing or damaged components
- Using appropriate testing equipment to verify electrical safety and functionality.
- Identifying and documenting any hazardous conditions or non-compliance with regulations.
- Completing detailed inspection reports, including photographs and specific location information.
- Communicating effectively with property owners/occupants regarding inspection findings and any necessary actions.
- Adhering to all relevant safety regulations, industry best practices, and DNO procedures.
- Maintaining company vehicle and equipment in good working order.
- Working independently and managing your daily schedule efficiently.
Qualifications and Skills:
- In date Safety Passport (CSCS, CCNSG or equivalent)
- In date first aid certificate
- Excellent visual inspection skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify potential hazards.
- Valid UK driving license.
- Good IT skills for completing electronic reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within meter reading or smart metering environment
