Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Baker to join our team. The Baker will be responsible for preparing a wide range of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts, following established recipes and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Baking Production:
- Prepare and bake a variety of bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts according to recipes and specifications.
- Weigh and measure ingredients accurately, and mix dough or batter to the appropriate consistency.
- Shape dough or batter into desired forms, and place them on baking sheets or molds.
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure proper cooking and achieve desired results.
- Decorate and finish baked goods with toppings, glazes, or icings as needed.
- Quality Assurance:
- Inspect baked goods for quality, consistency, and appearance, and discard any items that do not meet standards.
- Follow food safety and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking ingredient usage, rotating stock, and notifying management of any shortages or discrepancies.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other members of the bakery team to coordinate production schedules and ensure timely completion of orders.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to relay information, ask questions, and address concerns.
- Support fellow team members during busy periods or special events by pitching in where needed.
- Listen to customer feedback and incorporate suggestions for improvement when possible.
- Assist in packaging and presenting baked goods for sale in an attractive and appealing manner.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a baker or pastry cook is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques, equipment, and ingredients is desirable.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately, and adapt to changes as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality baked goods.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
