Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technician/MOT Tester to join our professional automotive service team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and demonstrate expertise in vehicle inspection, repair, and maintenance. The Senior Technician will lead by example, providing guidance to junior staff while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs, servicing, and maintenance tasks as required.
- Conduct thorough MOT inspections on a wide range of vehicle makes and models, ensuring compliance with all legal and safety standards.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out diagnostics, repairs, and adjustments.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and services performed.
- Ensure workshop cleanliness and safety protocols are strictly adhered to at all times.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks involving vehicle parts or equipment to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose faults accurately.
- Proven experience as an MOT Technician or in a similar automotive repair role, with a strong understanding of vehicle systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and compliance documentation.

Pay: £34,500.00-£42,500.00 per year
