Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and responsible School Transport Escort (Passenger Assistant) to support students during their daily journeys to and from school. The successful candidate will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of pupils, including those with special needs or requiring additional care. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives while working in a supportive environment. Prior experience in assisted living, patient care, or caregiving is advantageous, particularly within nursing home, dementia, or senior care settings. The position involves assisting with boarding and alighting from vehicles, monitoring behaviour, and providing basic support as needed. All roles are paid positions.
Responsibilities
- Assist students during boarding and alighting from school transport vehicles, ensuring safety at all times
- Support children with special needs, including those requiring dementia or Alzheimer's care, in a caring and respectful manner
- Monitor behaviour during transit and intervene appropriately to maintain a safe environment
- Provide basic first aid if necessary and respond to emergencies in accordance with training
- Support with heavy lifting of mobility aids or equipment when required
- Ensure the vehicle remains clean and organised throughout the journey
- Communicate effectively with drivers, school staff, and parents regarding student needs or concerns
- Assist with meal preparation or medication administration for students with specific health requirements (if applicable)
- Support behaviour management strategies to promote positive conduct during transit
Experience
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are desirable:
- PATS (Passenger Assistant Training Scheme) Certificate
- First Aid Certificate

Pay: £14.00-£20.00 per hour
