Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team at Southbourne Pharmacy, Emsworth. The successful candidate will play a vital role in accurately dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and supporting pharmacy operations. Duties
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications in accordance with healthcare regulations and pharmacy protocols
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and organising medication orders
- Provide guidance to patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions
- Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and patient interactions
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reordering supplies as needed
- Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to health and safety standards
- Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing prescriptions
- Contribute to delivering compassionate patient care by addressing queries and offering support where appropriate
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to prevent errors
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A recognised qualification in pharmacy services or related field is advantageous but not essential
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations
