Job Summary
We are looking for dedicated children's home weekend DAYS 8am-8pm support workers in Aveley to be part of a team offering a comprehensive residential service to children and young people who have a diagnosed learning disability and associated challenging behaviours. The aim being to ensure the physical, social and emotional well-being of the children/young people, and assist in their positive holistic development, we require passionate and driven people who want to make a significant difference to the lives of vulnerable children, supporting them with independence, being able to follow their support plans and behaviour support plans consistently and being able to develop a strong bond and trusting relationship.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care and household tasks.
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual’s needs.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide childcare support as required, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children.
- Accompany children to appointments or activities as needed,
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client’s condition to relevant parties.
- Utilise IT skills to manage documentation and communicate effectively within the team.
Skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with children and their families effectively.
- Experience in childcare or working with children is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Proficient IT skills for managing records and communication within the organisation.
- A compassionate nature with a commitment to promoting the dignity and independence of those you support.
Diploma level 3 in residential childcare desirable, or a willingness to complete this qualification in the time scale set in the Children's Homes Regulations 2015
