Experienced Bank Receptionists – Private Healthcare Clinic
The Richards’ Centre is an established, busy private healthcare clinic in Crawley. We are looking to appoint more than one experienced receptionist to join our reception bank, providing planned holiday cover, additional shifts and occasional short-notice sickness cover.
Previous reception experience is essential
This is not an entry-level reception role.
We need applicants who already have experience working on a busy reception desk and are confident dealing with patients or customers both face-to-face and by telephone.
Experience within healthcare, dental, veterinary, medical or another busy professional reception environment would be particularly welcome.
Applicants without previous reception experience are unlikely to be shortlisted.
The role includes
- Welcoming patients in a warm, professional and reassuring manner
- Answering a busy telephone and handling enquiries confidently
- Booking, rearranging and cancelling appointments accurately
- Learning and using our computerised clinic booking system
- Taking card payments
- Managing emails, messages and routine reception administration
- Maintaining strict patient confidentiality
- Liaising with osteopaths, podiatrists and other healthcare practitioners
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic
- Providing holiday, sickness and additional cover for our regular reception team
Availability is especially important
Our usual reception shifts are:
8.00am–1.30pm
1.30pm–7.00pm
Saturdays 8.00am–2.00pm
Hours are variable and offered according to clinic requirements and individual availability. There are no guaranteed weekly hours, although regular shifts may also become available.
We are particularly interested in people with good weekday availability, who can work some Saturdays and who may occasionally be able to help at relatively short notice.
We are looking for someone who is
- An experienced receptionist
- Confident and personable on the telephone
- Calm and capable when reception becomes busy
- Accurate, organised and able to prioritise
- Comfortable learning detailed computer systems
- Able to use initiative without constant supervision
- Warm and professional with patients
- Reliable and punctual
- Discreet and respectful of confidentiality
- Flexible about covering different shifts where possible
- Happy working as part of a small, established team
Pay and training
Starting rate: £13.50 per hour, plus 12.75% holiday pay
Paid training is provided.
The hourly rate will be reviewed once the successful applicant is fully trained and confident working independently within our clinic systems.
We are hoping for successful applicants to be available to begin training within approximately 2–4 weeks.
