Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Housekeeper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the care home, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning Duties
- Clean and sanitise residents’ rooms, bathrooms, and communal areas.
- Carry out routine and deep cleaning tasks in line with cleaning schedules.
- Dust, vacuum, mop floors, and polish surfaces.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and appropriately.
- Replenish cleaning supplies and toiletries where required.
Infection Control
- Follow all infection prevention and control procedures.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly.
- Pay particular attention to high-touch surfaces to reduce the spread of infection.
Laundry Support (if required)
Assist with washing, drying, ironing, and folding laundry. Ensuring residents’ clothing and linens are handled with care and returned correctly.
Health & Safety
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Report any hazards, damages, or maintenance issues promptly.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Resident Interaction
Interact with residents in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner.
Respect residents’ privacy, dignity, and personal space at all times.
Skills & Experience
Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience (preferred but not essential).Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good time management and organisational skills. Understanding of hygiene and infection control principles.
