Masterclass and Shakespeare's Globe are offering a paid Theatre Assistant Internship for someone aiming to gain experience with a view to working in theatre producing or general management.
The Theatre Assistant Intern will shadow and work closely with members of the Theatre Department, to provide general administrative and practical support to the Department and carry out tasks specific to the productions running in the venue or in development.

Internship: August 2026 – August 2027

Contract Type: Fixed Term, part-time - 26 hours a week, to be worked across 4 days
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- General administrative assistance (minuting meetings, keeping records up-to-date, checking the availability of freelance creatives, ordering supplies, processing invoices, raising purchase orders and tracking expenditure, booking event spaces and running errands)
- Assisting with events including auditions, design meetings, rehearsals and R&Ds, Midnight Matinees and press nights
Who Should Apply & Eligibility:
We're looking for candidates who:
✔ Can demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing a career in theatre production or general management, as evidenced by training, work experience or shadowing
✔ Can demonstrate some experience of working in a professional team, and some administrative experience, even if this was not gained in a theatre context
✔ Work well under pressure and are confident interacting with a wide range of people
✔ Are I.T. literate, with good written and verbal communication skills
✔ Are self-motivated, with the ability to juggle a range of projects and tasks, and excellent attention to detail
✔ Are enthusiastic and keen to learn
✔ Have not had professional experience working in a production or general management role on a large-scale production

- Age 18+
- Available for the full placement
- Have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the placement
