Duties
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications in accordance with doctor’s instructions and pharmacy protocols
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, labeling, and packaging to ensure safety and compliance
- Provide clear guidance to patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions
- Maintain meticulous records of dispensed medications, inventory levels, and patient interactions
- Support medication administration processes by verifying prescriptions and ensuring proper documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions or address medication-related questions
- Ensure the pharmacy environment remains organized, clean, and compliant with health regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician or dispenser within a healthcare setting. At least two years.
- Strong knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems
- Excellent attention to detail to prevent errors in dispensing and recordkeeping
- Exceptional patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically
- Ability to follow strict safety protocols and maintain confidentiality at all times
- Certification or licensure as required by local health authorities or pharmacy boards is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks
