In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, and maintaining fire-rated door assemblies that meet stringent safety standards. Duties
- Install, repair, and inspect fire-rated doors and associated hardware in accordance with fire safety regulations and schematics
- Conduct thorough assessments of existing fire door assemblies to identify deficiencies or compliance issues
- Collaborate with project teams to develop detailed fabrication and installation plans based on technical drawings and schematics
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to modify or create custom fire door solutions
- Perform routine maintenance checks and testing of fire doors to ensure proper operation and adherence to safety standards
- Document all installation processes, inspections, and maintenance activities accurately for compliance records
- Coordinate with other construction trades such as masonry, plastering, roofing, electrical, plumbing, and construction painting to ensure seamless project execution
Requirements
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Proven fire door / fire stopping experience
Able to work independently
Strong leadership and team management skills
Fluent English speaker, excellent communication skills
Competent IT skills for digital job forms/certificates
BM Trada qualified (desirable)
DBS checked or able to pass
