Are you a people person who loves chatting to customers?
We're looking for a warm, confident and organised Bookings & Reception Coordinator to join our small team at Mackney Photography.
This could be perfect if you've spent years working with people – perhaps in hairdressing, beauty, hospitality, retail or reception – and you're looking for a permanent part-time role with regular daytime hours.
You don't need photography experience. Personality, organisation and great customer service are what matter to us.
About Us
Mackney Photography is a family-run, award-winning portrait studio established in 2001 and based at Darley Abbey Mills.
We photograph newborns, children, families and pets and pride ourselves on creating beautiful portraits and a fantastic customer experience.
The Role
You'll often be the first person our customers speak to, so you'll need to be confident and natural on the phone.
Your role will include:
- Handling incoming and outgoing customer calls
- Chatting to customers about our photography experiences
- Converting enquiries into bookings
- Booking customers into our online diary
- Following up enquiries
- Managing and organising the studio diary
- Updating our CRM and customer records
- Welcoming customers into the studio
- Supporting our small team with reception and administration
There is a sales element, but no hard selling. It's about building rapport, understanding the customer and helping them choose the right photography experience.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has at least 2 years' customer-facing experience
- Loves talking to people and has a great telephone manner
- Is confident, friendly and naturally engaging
- Is organised, reliable and good at keeping on top of things
- Is comfortable using computers and learning new systems
- Enjoys working as part of a small team
- Has a positive, can-do attitude
Experience in hairdressing, beauty, hospitality, retail, reception or another people-focused role would be particularly relevant.
Bookings, diary management or telesales experience would be helpful but isn't essential. And if you love portrait photography, even better.
Full training will be provided.

Applicants must be available to work both Thursday and Friday each week. There may be positiblity for more hours and occasional weekend work may be required.
