Trainee Assembly & Test Technician
Location: BIS Valves Ltd, West Moors, BH21 6US
Hours: Permanent, Full-time (37 hours per week)
- Monday–Thursday: 7:00am–3:30pm (or 8:00am–4:30pm)
- Friday: 7:00am–12:00pm (or 8:00am–1:00pm)

We are now looking for a Trainee Assembly & Test Technician to join our friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a hands-on, practical mindset who is keen to learn a skilled trade in a precision manufacturing environment.
The Role
As a trainee, you will receive full training to learn how to assemble and test high-quality valves used in critical applications. You’ll be supported by experienced technicians and engineers as you develop your mechanical understanding, technical skills, and confidence in a clean, organised workshop.
You’ll gradually learn to:
- Build and assemble precision-engineered valves from detailed work instructions
- Follow step-by-step processes to ensure quality and accuracy
- Carry out basic testing procedures under supervision
- Handle and inspect small components with care and attention to detail
- Maintain good housekeeping and follow safe working practices
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need previous experience in valve assembly — we’ll teach you everything you need to know.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Interested in engineering or hands-on mechanical work
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and eager to learn
- Able to follow instructions carefully and take pride in doing a job well
- Comfortable working as part of a team and communicating clearly
- Good with basic tools and practical problem solving
Desirable (but not essential)
- Some workshop or mechanical experience (even as a hobby or from school/college)
- Basic understanding of mechanical drawings or measuring tools
