Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring creativity and quality in all dishes.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure consistency in food preparation and presentation.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, food ordering, and stock control.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
- Monitor portion control and waste management to optimise kitchen efficiency.
- Assist in maintaining a positive work atmosphere by promoting teamwork and effective communication among staff members.
Experience
- Proven experience with a minimum of 5 years experience in a senior chef role, with a track record of success in a high volume establishment
- Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Experience in supervising kitchen staff and managing team dynamics effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for the culinary arts, with a desire to continuously learn and grow within the industry.
