Job Summary
BID St Andrews is a business-led organisation working to enhance, promote and support St Andrews town centre. We deliver projects that benefit local businesses, improve the town centre environment and create events and initiatives that encourage people to visit and spend time in St Andrews.
We are looking for a creative, organised and proactive Social Media & Events Assistant to support our marketing, communications and event delivery. This role would suit someone who enjoys creating engaging content, building relationships with local businesses and can confidently manage their workload while taking initiative.
Duties
- Create and manage engaging social media content across multiple platforms
- Plan and schedule content to promote local businesses, events and community initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with local businesses, encouraging engagement and maintaining accurate digital content.
- Produce regular business newsletters and marketing communications.
- Develop content to showcase projects, campaigns and the positive impact of town centre initiatives.
- Assist with the planning, promotion and delivery of events, including coordinating logistics and capturing live content.
- Work closely with stakeholders, suppliers and partner organisations to deliver marketing campaigns and community projects.
- Monitor social media channels, responding to enquiries and engaging with audiences in a professional manner.
- Identify new marketing opportunities and proactively approach businesses to feature in campaigns.
- Support a wide range of marketing, communications and administrative activities in a fast-paced environment.
What We're Looking For:

· Have a strong understanding of social media platforms and current trends.
· Be confident creating photo and video content using a smartphone and editing software.
· Be able to work independently, manage their own workload and take initiative.
· Be proactive in identifying opportunities.
· Be organised with excellent attention to detail.
· Be confident communicating with businesses and external partners.
· Have a positive, enthusiastic attitude and a genuine interest in supporting the local business community.
Desirable Skills & Experience
· Knowledge of Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
· Experience using scheduling platforms and analytics tools.
· Photography and video editing skills.
· An interest in place marketing, tourism or community engagement.
Role beginning: August (subject to successful renewal ballot)
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
