About the Role
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller seeking to apply their skills in a vibrant, fast-paced Credit Office. This role is based in our Huddersfield office and reporting directly to the Credit Manager. The Credit Controller is a key member of our growing credit team, primarily responsible for managing an aged debt portfolio for our locations throughout the UK.
Key Duties
To meet this challenge, you should be able to demonstrate the following:
- Managing a sizeable, aged debt ledger including customers ranging from sole traders to national contractors.
- Chasing customers for payment via various communication methods, primarily phone and email.
- Be able to identify and manage risk by ensuring accounts are paid in full and on time, and credit limits are monitored and maintained.
- Ensure customer queries are addressed and resolved effectively and efficiently.
- Support the wider credit control team in taking and allocating payments.
- Maintain and develop excellent relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Although these will be the main responsibilities, you will become part of a flexible team and have opportunities to get involved in all areas of credit control.
Applicant Specification
- Ideally two years’ experience in a Credit Department, with strong B2B experience although not essential.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail especially when dealing with payments and allocating cash.
- Proactive self-starter who is motivated to get the job done.
- The ability to work as part of a team and individually.
- Good time management and organisation skills, be able to prioritise workload and deliver under pressure of deadlines.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft applications is desirable but not essential as full training will be given where required.
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
