We are a growing, family-run waste management and recycling company based in Gravesend, Kent. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and professional HGV Class 2 Dustcart / RCV Driver to join our team.
The role will primarily involve driving a Refuse Collection Vehicle (RCV / Dustcart) carrying out commercial waste and recycling collections across London, Kent and the South East.
You will be responsible for completing scheduled collection rounds safely and efficiently, working closely with our Transport Team and ensuring a professional service is provided to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving and operating an HGV Class 2 Dustcart / RCV
- Completing commercial waste and recycling collection rounds
- Carrying out collections across London, Kent and the South East
- Safely operating the vehicle's bin lifting equipment
- Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
- Ensuring all collections are completed accurately and efficiently
- Communicating with the Transport Team throughout the working day
- Completing relevant paperwork and electronic job records
- Maintaining a professional manner when attending customer sites
- Ensuring compliance with Drivers' Hours, Working Time and company procedures
- Keeping the vehicle clean and presentable
- Reporting access issues, contamination or collection problems promptly
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is dependable, professional and comfortable working in a busy waste collection environment.
Essential:
- HGV Class 2 / Category C licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Comfortable driving in London and the South East
- Comfortable with early starts, typically around 5:00am to 6:00am
- Good understanding of vehicle safety and daily checks
- Reliable with a professional attitude
Previous Dustcart / RCV experience is highly desirable.
Experience with commercial waste collections, trade waste, wheelie bins or similar waste operations would be particularly beneficial.
