Overview:
We are seeking a Surveyor to join our Passive Fire team. You’ll be part of a busy team, working closely with our Operatives, office-based support teams, contractors and our clients, to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of our contracts.
Hours:
This role is Mon – Fri, 8:30am – 4:30pm. Some reasonable flexibility may be required on start/finish time in line with works.

Responsibilities
- Carry out passive fire protection surveys across residential and commercial properties
- Inspect fire doors, compartmentation, fire stopping and associated passive fire protection systems
- Identify defects, compliance failures and remedial requirements in line with relevant legislation and British Standards
- Produce clear, accurate and detailed survey reports, including photographic evidence and recommendations
- Review site drawings and documentation where required to support survey findings
- Liaise professionally with clients, contractors and internal teams regarding survey outcomes and remedial actions
- Ensure all administration, reporting and documentation is completed accurately and on time
- Maintain full compliance with health & safety procedures, ensuring safe working practices for yourself and colleagues
- Attend site meetings as required and provide technical guidance where necessary
- Support trainees or apprentices when required
- Liaise with supporting office-based teams to ensure smooth project delivery
- Keep up to date with changes in fire safety legislation, guidance and industry best practice
Essential Experience, Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience carrying out passive fire surveys within residential and/or commercial environments
- Strong knowledge of fire doors, compartmentation and fire stopping systems
- Understanding of current fire safety legislation and relevant British Standards
- Experience producing detailed reports and identifying remedial actions
- Valid CSCS Card
- Comfortable working in a field-based role across occupied properties
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, customer-focused approach
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Desirable
- FDIS Diploma or equivalent passive fire qualification
- FIRAS, BM TRADA or IFC related experience
- Experience using Bolster, PlanRadar or similar reporting software
- Knowledge of FRA actions and remedial works
- First Aid, Asbestos Awareness & Working at Height
- Experience within the local authority or social housing sector
