Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Drainage Groundworker / Drain Repair Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing drainage systems on-site. This role requires a skilled professional with a solid understanding of groundworks, drainage solutions, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities
- Excavating trenches and working around existing drainage infrastructure using hand tools and power tools
- Installing new drainage systems, including pipes, manholes, and soakaways
- Repairing or replacing damaged drain sections with precision and adherence to safety standards
- Operating machinery such as excavators to assist with large-scale excavation tasks
- Welding components or pipework as required to ensure secure connections
- Using mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues within drainage systems
- Conducting electrical checks or repairs on associated equipment when necessary
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment throughout each project
Skills
- Proven experience in drainage groundworks or similar civil engineering roles
- Proficiency in operating excavators and other heavy machinery
- Competent with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment used in groundworks
- Strong mechanical knowledge relevant to drainage systems and associated infrastructure
- Electrical experience is advantageous for troubleshooting electrical components within drainage or related systems
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
