Robert Lickley Refractories (RLR) is a growing manufacturing business specialising in the creation and manufacture of refractory products. We are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Operative to join our mixing team during an exciting period of growth.
This is not a warehouse or production‑line role. It is a hands‑on manufacturing environment where materials are made, handled, shaped, and processed. We are looking for dependable, hardworking individuals who are not afraid to get their hands dirty and take pride in practical work.
The Role
- Hands-on involvement in the manufacture and creation of refractory products
- Operating within a practical, industrial manufacturing environment
- Use of a forklift truck to move materials and finished products
- Supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations
- Maintaining quality, safety, and workplace standards
- Working as part of a reliable, close‑knit manufacturing team
What We’re Looking For
- A hardworking, dependable individual with a strong work ethic
- Someone who takes attendance, timekeeping, and consistency seriously
- Comfortable working in a physical, industrial manufacturing environment
- Forklift licence essential (or strong, proven forklift experience)
- Manufacturing or industrial experience is an advantage, but not essential
- Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and get stuck in
Hours of Work
- 7:30am – 3:15pm, Monday to Friday
- 30-minute paid break
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Pay & Overtime
- £12.71 per hour during a 3‑month probation period
- £13.43 per hour upon successful completion of probation
- Regular overtime available, paid at 1.5x and 2x rates
