Job Title: Payroll and Finance Assistant (AAT Level 3 Qualified or equivalent)

Position Overview: As a Payroll and Finance Assistant you will be working with our Financial Controller. You will work with a small team to complete various finance functions. The role will involve various aspects of payroll and finance and offers an excellent opportunity for an AAT 3 qualified individual with experience in QuickBooks & Moorepay software to further develop their skills and contribute to the success of our finance department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks software.
- Process payroll using Moorepay software.
- Periodically reconcile bank, cash, investment, payroll, and other control accounts.
- Maintain the purchase and sales ledger, ensuring timely and accurate capture of income and payments.
- Process monthly payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconciliations, including PAYE, AOE, pensions, salaries, debtors and creditors.
- Account and payroll mailbox management.
- Work with our accounts apprentice to mentor and provide support.
Qualifications and Experience:
- AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent is required (experience will be considered).
- Experience using payroll systems and a good understanding of payroll would be advantageous.
- Proven experience working with QuickBooks software is essential.
- Experience working with Moorepay software is desirable.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a finance department is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across different teams.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
