Study Leave/Training

Supervision
Regular supervisions on a one-to-one basis including an annual formal appraisal will be held with a line manager. If you are in a patient-facing role, you will also receive regular Clinical Supervisions with a Clinical Supervisor.
Induction Programme
You will receive an in-depth induction programme and will be invited to a face-to-face induction day within your first week to give you relevant information about the organisation and your job role.
Job summary
The post holder will provide Clinical Leadership to the ABC ADHD Service in Crawley, West Sussex.
This is a rapidly evolving service which currently supports patients who are eligible for ADHD Assessment, Diagnosis and Treatment in Crawley.
Primary duties and areas of responsibility
The post holder will:
- Lead clinical delivery for the service including the potential for expansion of the service across West Sussex with multiple locations
- Support the development of the ADHD team, including identifying and addressing knowledge gaps through educational and training activities
- Work closely with the Service Manager to identify needs of the interprofessional team including nurses and mental health experts, to further strengthen the team and service delivery
- Keep up to date with national updates for ADHD and be able to rapidly translate national guidance into local delivery
- Bring knowledge, experience and clinical leadership to the team particularly around specific health needs of the ADHD population
- Identify and develop new pathways to enhance patient care for this population across the footprint of the service i.e. by building relationships with key stakeholders such as SCFT, mental health providers, local practices, third sector organisations
- Ensure cascading of clinical information both within the ADHD service, and also to external partners such as GP practices, ICBs, and national organisations
- Understand, identify and respond to safeguarding issues specific to the population and setting
- Conduct and oversee audits to ensure clinical KPIs for the service are being measured and met
- Share best practice in providing healthcare for ADHD patients, regionally and nationally i.e. via presentations and papers
- Support the Head of Service in evolving the service in line with our current strategy
- Work alongside the Service Manager to develop placement opportunities for learners in the service
- Assist with health needs queries from partners such as those working in the voluntary sector
- Provide a clinical presence and insight at both internal meetings, and on behalf of the organisation at external meetings relevant to the role i.e. with local ICBs, SCFT, national partners
- Provide clinical oversight of the service
- Provide support to local practices who refer patients and whom patients are discharged to i.e. through training events, regular practice meetings
- Respond to complaints and clinical incidents within the service, and implement service improvements as a result
The post holder will need to build relationships with other clinicians, providers across the footprint of the service, accommodation providers, and national organisations. The post holder should also work clinically in the service to ensure first-hand experience of the delivery model.
They will be supported by the Head of Service, Lead Nurse, Service Manager & Medical Director as well as the ABC Quality Assurance and People Team to ensure that our clinical services run effectively, safely and provide excellent quality of care.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Hold CCT
- On GP performers list
- UKAAN Diagnosis and Assessment of Adults with ADHD
- UKAAN Pharmacological Treatment for Adults with ADHD
Desirable:
- 5 years+ post CCT experience
- Additional qualification relevant to this role
Experience
Essential:
- Clinical experience in ADHD assessment, diagnosis and treatment
- Demonstrable clinical leadership experience with the ability to lead, motivate and support a diverse clinical team
- Medication management and prescribing pathways
- Experience working within clinical governance frameworks
Desirable:
- Experience of working within West Sussex
- Clinical leadership of a team including decision making in mental health clinical scenarios
- Designing and developing new patient services and pathways
- Identifying and addressing patient safety issues
- Clinical Supervision of an multi-disciplinary team including GPs, nurses, pharmacists or mental health workers
