We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Worker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all warehouse operations run smoothly. This role involves various tasks related to the handling of goods, including loading and unloading materials, managing inventory, and maintaining a safe working environment.
CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO READ AND SPEAK BASIC ENGLISH.
Must be physically fit and strong - Experience driving a forklift is essential.
Monday to Friday- 8:50am - 5:00pm. 18 days paid holidays. Weekends + Bank Holidays closed. Permanent position pending a 6 month probation. Free parking. Derby City Centre location - DE22
Responsibilities
- Load and unload goods from lorries and containers efficiently and safely.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as required.
- Perform materials handling tasks, including sorting, packing, and preparing items for shipping.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
- Carry out heavy lifting tasks as necessary while following proper lifting techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Basic math skills are necessary for inventory management and order processing.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
- Experience driving a forklift is essential.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- There will be heavy lifting involved so candidate must be physically fit and strong.
