Service Technician
Salford | Up to £32,000
Due to continued growth, an innovative engineering business is looking to recruit a Service Technician to join their repair and support team in Salford.
This is a hands-on repair role focused on diagnosing faults, repairing returned equipment and seeing repairs through from initial investigation to final testing and sign-off.
The successful candidate will be responsible for fault finding across a range of specialist electro-mechanical and electronic products, identifying issues to component level, carrying out repairs, replacing faulty parts and ensuring equipment is fully operational before being returned to customers.
This is not a production, assembly or installation role. We're specifically looking for engineers and technicians with experience repairing, servicing and troubleshooting equipment.
Responsibilities
- Fault finding and diagnostics on returned equipment
- Component-level repairs and replacement
- Soldering and electronic rework
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
- Testing, calibration and verification of repaired equipment
- Recording repair findings and maintaining service records
- Managing repairs through to successful completion
- Supporting continuous improvement of repair processes

Requirements
- Proven fault-finding and troubleshooting experience
- Experience repairing and servicing equipment
- Component-level repair and soldering experience
- Ability to work from electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Experience testing and calibrating equipment
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Good communication skills and customer-focused approach
- Experience working in a service, repair or aftermarket support environment
Desirable
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification
- Electro-mechanical repair experience
- Experience supporting customers or service teams
Salary
Up to £32,000
