We are seeking a high-calibre Head of Commercial Analytics, to join the business and lead pricing strategy, margin maintenance and commercial performance analysis across the organisation, with a strong lean towards pricing and margin management. This role provides data-driven insight and commercial analysis to support decision-making across the business.
The role acts in an advisory capacity to the Head of Sales, providing pricing and margin guidance to support sales execution and is an individual contributor role.
Key Responsibilities (This list is not exhaustive)
1. Pricing & Margin Management
- Own pricing strategy and structures across domestic and export markets.
- Monitor and maintain margin performance across the product portfolio.
- Conduct pricing analysis and recommend adjustments in response to cost, market and competitive changes.
- Provide pricing and margin guidance in an advisory capacity to the Head of Sales.
- Analyse the commercial impact of raw material cost movements on pricing and margin.
2. Business Analytics & Reporting
- Develop and maintain commercial reporting and dashboards to track sales, pricing and margin performance.
- Provide business analysis to support commercial and strategic decision-making.
- Analyse customer, product and channel profitability to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support the wider business with data-driven insight drawn from ERP, CRM and BI/reporting systems.
3. Systems & Tools
- Act as a key user and champion of SAP for commercial and pricing data.
- Utilise CRM and BI/reporting platforms to support commercial analysis and reporting.
- Build and maintain advanced Excel models to support pricing, margin and commercial analysis.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of commercial systems and processes.
4. Commercial & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Work closely with Sales, Production, R&D and Procurement to align pricing and commercial data with business objectives.
- Support the Head of Sales with commercial insight, though does not own sales forecasting or production planning.
- Provide commercial input into new product pricing in collaboration with R&D and Sales.
5. Safety and Compliance
- Ensure systems and processes are followed to minimise the environmental impact of the operations.
- All activities on site are carried out in a safe manner, in line with policies, ensuring that all Health, Safety and Environmental statutory requirements are met.
- Compliance to all other HSE & HR Policies & Procedures.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience implementing and using ERP, CRM, BI/reporting platforms and advanced Excel modelling; SAP experience required.
- Experience valued over formal qualifications.
- Strong background in pricing, margin management and commercial/business analytics.
- Experience within the chemicals, transportation or industrial fluids sector advantageous.
