Overview
Due to continued growth & expansion Varlowe are seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our team. We are looking for a time served/ experienced Fabricator who is currently working or has been working in this role. This role is not suited to just a Welder, we require a Fabricator who can take a Job from design to completion from Fabrication through to a product ready for delivery.
Responsibilities & Requirements
- Fabricate & Weld Aluminium, Mild Steel & Stainless Steel materials to produce high quality components and assemblies
- Read & interpret Engineering Drawings to produce high quality components & assemblies
- Reverse Engineer samples to produce high quality components & assemblies
- Proficient in the manufacture of Jigs & Fixtures to enable batch or complex manufacture of components and assemblies
- Perform basic mathematical calculations for measurements and layouts
- Proficient in MIG & TIG Welding Processes
- Experience with Aluminium, Stainless Steel & Mild Steel is a minimum requirement
- Experience with exotic materials such as Hasteloy, Duplex, Inconel and Nickle based Alloys is advantageous
- Capable of Welding thin (minimum 0.9mm) & thick gauge materials
- Proficient in the use of Fabrication equipment such as a Guillotine/ Shear, Press Brake, Fly & Vertical Press, Automated & Manual Rolls, Drills, Punch/ Metal Worker and Band Saws (Rolling & Forming)
- Minimum 10 Years experience in this or a similar role with the relevant experience
- Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes & material properties
- Motivated, Proactive, Positive, Adaptable, Organised, Analytical and Methodical
- Ability to work to deadlines
- To work with finesse to produce high quality components and assemblies
- Ensure that all finished products meet the required quality and saftey standards
- Maintain a clean & organised work area
- Good communication skills
- Good timekeeping and attendance record
- Be able to use measuring equipment
- Engineering Qualifications would be advantageous but not necessary as timer served/ experience is a must
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday = 07:00am to 16:00pm
Friday = 07:00am to 13:00pm
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £21.20 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
