Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will support dentists during procedures, ensure patient comfort, and uphold the highest standards of hygiene and organisation within the clinic. Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilising instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use
- Provide patients with pre- and post-treatment instructions, answering any questions they may have
- Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment notes in accordance with practice protocols
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the dental surgery in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Support with administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling and patient correspondence
- Monitor stock levels of dental supplies and reorder as necessary to ensure smooth clinic operations
- Uphold strict infection control standards throughout all aspects of clinical work
Skills
- Proven experience in patient care within a healthcare or dental setting is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
- Good IT literacy for maintaining accurate electronic health records and managing administrative duties
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, to ensure clear communication with patients and team members
- Knowledge of nursing practices relevant to dental care, including sterilisation procedures and infection control protocols
