Overview
We are seeking a self-employed gardener to provide professional gardening and landscape maintenance services. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for horticulture and experience in maintaining various outdoor spaces. This role offers flexibility for those who enjoy working independently and have a keen eye for detail in creating and maintaining beautiful gardens and landscapes.
Duties
- Use hand tools such as secateurs, spades, and rakes to prune, trim, and maintain plants and shrubs
- Operate power tools including lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers to carry out landscaping tasks
- Assist with planting, sowing, and growing various plants, flowers, and vegetables
- Conduct regular landscape maintenance including mowing, edging, weeding, and fertilising
- Monitor plant health and identify pests or diseases, applying appropriate treatments when necessary
- Plan and implement garden designs or improvements based on client preferences
- Maintain equipment and ensure all tools are kept in good condition
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for gardening tasks
- Growing experience with a variety of plants, flowers, and vegetables
- Strong knowledge of horticulture principles and landscape maintenance techniques
- Ability to operate irrigation systems effectively
- Experience in gardening or landscape design is desirable
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects independently
- Physical fitness to carry out outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure high standards of garden care
