Overall purpose and aims of role :
· Set tools and the ancillary equipment in line with the tool priority setting plan.
· Ensure that tools are set to achieve the costed cycle time and report deviations through the shift manager.
· Communicate the production priorities to the setting team and give any assistance required to overcome problems.
· Work in accordance with Company/TS 16949 requirements.
Main duties and areas of responsibility :
· Work with the Setter team leader to ensure that tool sets are achieved in line with the plan.
· Optimise tool change times and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
· Take responsibility for the technical training and skill development of the setting team.
· To ensure that all tools are set to meet the required standards as defined in the mould tool setting sheet and the part first off inspection.
· Accurately record all tool settings on tool setting sheet/disk.
· Ensure that all “tool work request forms” are processed correctly and ensure that tool is labelled correctly and placed in the correct location.
· To carry out safety checks on all machines at specified intervals and that the documentation is completed.
· Ensure that all first off parts are submitted to quality for production sign off.
· Carry out a visual audit on all machines every two hours and take appropriate action over any quality issues.
· Support Engineering with all new tool trials as required.
· Carry out machine repairs or maintenance that is within the setter’s skill Set
· Answer machine alarm outs and ensure continued production.
· Support the material handlers as required

3 x 12 hour shifts - Monday to Wednesday

Pay: £31,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
