JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title ~ Care Support Workers for Adults with Disabilities
Pay ~ At least the NMW (depending on age)
Hours ~ We have multiple shifts available due to staff retiring. The agreed contracted hours will depend on the number of shifts prospective applicants choose to work, which will ultimately affect the number of employees we recruit. Predominantly, the hours we have available cover weekend shifts, but there are a number of hours available midweek. We support clients in their own home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so the shifts range from sleep-in shifts, evening working and daytime working. Shift lengths can vary from 3 - 12 hours. We are also open to recruiting staff who may be looking to provide bank cover for when staff are on annual leave, off sick or when our clients require additional 1-1 support.

Summary of Role
To support and care for adults with a variety of disabilities to live as independently as they can in their own homes. To look after their physical, emotional, cultural and social needs using a person-centred approach. Such disabilities include autism, learning disabilities, epilepsy, Down syndrome and cerebral palsy.
To create and maintain good, professional relationships with clients, their family, friends and other stakeholders.
To adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations and CAM Supported Living’s policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
To promote a positive and professional profile always ensuring the good reputation of the company.
Key Responsibilities
To provide personal care and assistance to clients to help them with dressing, washing, toileting and showering.
Helping with everyday household tasks such as meal preparation; cooking; feeding; creating shopping lists; going shopping; housework; pet care; laundry and gardening.
To continue to work with clients when they are unwell.
Working with other professionals such as doctors, therapists and other health/social care professionals to ensure consistency of support.
Supporting clients with community engagements, such as attending personal appointments; going to the gym/swimming; volunteer work placements; participation in social events; days out and holidays.
Enabling clients to maintain relationships with friends and family by means of organising visits and for hosting friends and family in their home.
Becoming both a role model and companion to clients and uncovering shared interests such as hobbies and places of interest.
Teaching life skills such as budgeting and paying bills, assisting clients in managing their money on a daily basis such as paying for goods and receiving change and receipts, and recording all expenditure.
To evidence client’s outcomes according to their care plans and to review periodically to ensure we are still meeting their needs.
To ensure a safe as possible living environment for clients whilst respecting their choices and rights.
To protect the confidentiality of all information relating to the clients and not divulge information to anyone who is not authorised to receive it.
To promptly report to the Directors any issues concerning the care, support, or behaviour of the clients and updating records accordingly.
To recognise signs of abuse and immediately report abuse or suspected abuse to a Director.
To maintain detailed and accurate records in respect of care, medication and support given relevant to the job role.
To adhere to CAM Supported Living CIC policies and procedures.
To attend training as determined by CAM Supported Living CIC and for your own professional development.
To have a full, clean driving licence and be able to transport clients and equipment (e.g. wheelchairs). Your vehicle must be maintained and insured in line with our Transport and Vehicle Policy.
To work flexibly within the staff team to cover annual leave and sickness. Shift cover will include days, evenings and sleep-ins. There may also be opportunities to accompany the clients on holidays.
Breaks-Away Respite Services is another side of our business where we take clients on various activities that include day trips, short breaks, and holidays. There may be opportunities for you to become part of the Breaks-Away team.
The Company Directors may amend your job description for the benefit of the business or our clients. In addition to the duties set out above, you may be required to undertake additional or other reasonable duties as necessary to meet the needs of our business.

At present, we are unable to offer overseas sponsorship for employment. All applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK without the need for visa sponsorship.
