The Role
We have a vacancy for a Business Systems Developer within the Business Systems Team in our IT Department. The successful candidate will assist in providing a first-class level of support to colleagues and will play a critical role in optimising processes and ensuring the smooth operation of practice, case, and document management systems across the firm.
Key duties include:
- Providing application-specific and general IT support to colleagues across all departments within the firm.
- Complete regular, scheduled business systems maintenance tasks.
- Full end to end development of legal case management workflows and processes from requirements analysis, through to release, and review of measures of success.
- Produce and maintain standard document templates.
- Build and maintain business system integrations.
- Produce and maintain change management documentation.
- Maintenance of Management Information databased, and production of reports and dashboards.
- Assist with the planning, preparation and delivery of IT training.
- Perform any other reasonable IT tasks as required by the needs of the firm.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in developing and maintaining legal business systems, particularly Practice Management, Case, and Document Management systems and a strong understanding of legal workflows and processes. Experience in the use of TSQL language, SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) and SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) together with experience in the use of RESTful API web service integration are desired.
A working Knowledge of One Advanced Parter 4 Windows (P4W) would be advantageous, but not essential. Experience in providing application-specific support and training to colleagues, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. The ability to work independently and as part of a team with a strong focus on detail and ability to prioritise tasks. Experience with AI, Machine Learning, Python, and modern automation technologies and an awareness of how AI can support legal practice, automate repetitive processes, enhance case management systems, and enable intelligent integrations would be advantageous. Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Large Language Models (LLMs), or comparable AI platforms would also be beneficial.
