Site Manager – DDL Group
Location: Site across, Kent and Surrounding areas. (Head office: Eastchurch, Isle of Sheppey.)
£300 per day – Pay rate negotiable depending on experience

About the Role
Established in 2012, DDL Group has experienced significant growth and has developed into a multi-disciplined contractor specialising in civil engineering, groundworks, rail and utilities.
We are looking to recruit an experienced and dedicated Site Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing site operations and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely and to the required standards.
This role requires a proactive individual with excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
Main Responsibilities
- Minimum of 3 years’ site experience, with an SMSTS qualification and ideally a Black CSCS Card. We would also consider candidates with a Gold CSCS Card.
- Overall planning of works and allocation of resources, including site operatives and subcontractors.
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and the agreed scope of work.
- Maintain strong client relationships.
- Carry out and review any items identified during in-process or final inspections, as instructed by the Surveyor/Contracts Manager.
- Provide adequate supervision for employees and contractors.
- Oversee waste management on site and ensure Waste Transfer Notes are obtained.
- Ensure materials and chemicals are suitably identified and stored.
- Coordinate planned arrangements in the event of an emergency situation.
- Report any instances of non-conformance or near misses identified during operations.
- Maintain accurate site diaries.
- Ensure adherence to CDM Regulations and all relevant Health & Safety requirements.
- Maintain site inductions.
- Ensure site welfare facilities are compliant and adequate.
- Ensure plant and tools are regularly checked and fit for purpose.
- Report to the Contracts Manager.
Experience & Skills Required
- Sound IT skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly strong Excel skills.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Site Management.
- Experience in Site Management within the Civil Engineering, Rail and Utilities sectors.
- SMSTS qualification.
- CSCS Black Card – Gold Card will also be considered.
- Thames Water PTS – plus, not required.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

Monday to Friday: 47.5 hours per week (9.5 hr per day)
Occasional weekend work when required.
