About us Hasmart Renewables is an MCS-certified, NAPIT-registered multi-trade installer based in South Shields. We install solar PV, battery storage, EV chargers, air conditioning, gas as well as full electrical systems across the North East. Solar is our biggest and fastest-growing service line.
The role You'll be running domestic and light commercial solar PV and battery installations from first fix to commissioning and handover. Day to day that means:
- AC and DC installation of roof-mounted PV arrays, inverters and battery storage
- Consumer unit work, isolation, protective devices, earthing and bonding, surge protection
- Commissioning, testing and completing certification to BS 7671 and MCS standards
- DNO notification paperwork (G98 / G99) and MCS handover documentation
- Fault finding and service calls on existing systems
- Working in occupied homes to a standard we're happy to put our name to
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent) and 18th Edition (BS 7671)
- C&G 2391 (or 2394/2395) Inspection & Testing
- ECS / JIB Gold Card
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable working at height on pitched and flat roofs
Desirable — or we'll fund it
- C&G 2399 / Level 3 Award in small-scale solar PV installation
- Battery storage / BESS qualification
- EV charge point installation (C&G 2919)
- Experience with SolarEdge, Fox ESS, Tesla, Sigenergy or similar
- Previous MCS install experience
If you're a strong domestic spark with the electrical fundamentals but no solar tickets yet, still apply. We will pay for your PV and battery qualifications and you'll work alongside our existing team until you're signed off.
