Whitehaven Corps is seeking a dynamic and committed Christian to join our team as Corps Leader. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing and delivering mission and ministry activities that support people of all ages and backgrounds to experience community, belonging and the transforming love of Jesus.
Working alongside the Corps Leadership Team, volunteers, divisional colleagues and local partners, you will lead a programme of worship, discipleship, pastoral care and community engagement that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families within Whitehaven.
Key Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be a Salvation Army Soldier with a calling to ministry who will be responsible for leading Sunday worship, the discipleship and pastoral care of the congregation, as well as developing the spiritual ministry and casting a vision for the missional direction of the Corps. Leading a team with line management responsibility, they will also manage the Corps budget, as well as act as the local representative and contact for the Salvation Army in Whitehaven, embodying The Salvation Army’s identity, values and mission, working closely wit partner agencies and churches in the town.

Have the ability to motivate, support and develop others.

Have strong understanding of Scripture and Salvation Army doctrine.

Experience in leading worship and pastoral ministry.
The role has an Occupational Requirement for a committed and practising Christian Salvation Army Soldier where you will participate in and lead the worship, mission and life of this local Salvation Army expression(s). In addition, you will also be expected to work to the Corps Leader ‘Code of Practice’ at all times.
