Evening Asbestos Laboratory Analyst
Location: CH5 1QJ
Hours: Evening Shift Part Time Permanent - 17:00-22:00
Hourly Rate: £16-£25 per Hour Depending on Experience
We are seeking an experienced Evening Asbestos Laboratory Analyst to join our UKAS-accredited laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for the identification and analysis of bulk asbestos samples using Polarised Light Microscopy (PLM), ensuring all work is completed in accordance with ISO 17025, HSG248, UKAS requirements, and company quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Analysis of bulk asbestos samples using PLM techniques.
- Preparation of samples and accurate reporting of results.
- Maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and turnaround times.
- Compliance with laboratory quality systems, health and safety procedures, and UKAS accreditation requirements.
- Participation in internal quality control processes and proficiency testing schemes.
Requirements
- BOHS P401 qualification (or equivalent recognised asbestos bulk analysis qualification).
- Previous experience working within an asbestos laboratory.
- Good understanding of HSG248, ISO 17025, and asbestos laboratory quality requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Competent IT skills
Desirable
- Additional BOHS qualifications.
- Experience working in a UKAS-accredited environment.
