Orchard Vale Renewables is looking for a qualified electrician to join our team, working across Somerset and the wider South West.
We work closely with a number of established contractors, so we have a consistent flow of work available. The role is mainly solar PV and battery installations, along with associated electrical work, testing, commissioning and occasional fault finding.
This is a job and knock style role. You'll be given your work and trusted to get on with it. We're looking for someone who can work independently, complete jobs within a reasonable timeframe and leave a good standard of work behind them.
You don't need to already be an experienced solar installer. We're happy to provide training on the solar and battery side for the right electrician.
Pay
- £40,000 basic salary
- £50 bonus for qualifying installation days
- Full-time, permanent position
- Potential to earn £48,000 to £50,000+ depending on installations completed
The bonus is there to reward electricians who get their allocated work completed properly and within the expected timeframe. Jobs still need to be tested, commissioned and completed to the required standard.
The Role
Day to day work will include:
- Solar PV installations
- Battery storage installations
- Inverters and associated electrical equipment
- AC and DC electrical work
- Testing and commissioning
- Fault finding and remedial work
- General electrical work where required
- Completing relevant testing and job paperwork
We cover the whole of the South West, so there will be regular travel involved.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a good, competent electrician who is happy to be given a steady flow of work and get on with it.
You'll need to:
- Be a qualified electrician
- Be confident working independently
- Have good testing and fault finding knowledge
- Produce neat and tidy work
- Be reliable and punctual
- Be able to manage your own day and complete jobs on time
- Be comfortable travelling around the South West
- Be willing to learn solar PV and battery storage
Previous solar or battery experience would be useful, but isn't essential. Training will be provided.

We work on domestic and commercial solar PV, battery storage, electrical installations, maintenance and fault finding. We also work closely with larger contractors who provide us with regular installation work.
We're a small company and want to keep things straightforward. You'll be given your jobs, trusted to do them properly and have support available when you need it.
