7.5t Driver
Our client, a well-established logistics operation based in Darlington, is currently seeking experienced 7.5t drivers to support their busy depot with deliveries. This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling, so applicants must be comfortable with physical work.
Location: Darlington, DL1
Starts September 8th (training may take place beforehand at the Durham Depot)
Shift Pattern:
- Monday to Friday
- 8:30am start
Start Date: Immediately
The Role:
- Load and unload goods from the vehicle securely
- Plan delivery routes efficiently (often using GPS or route software)
- Deliver parcels or goods to multiple locations (typically 20-30 drops per day)
- Obtain proof of delivery (signatures, photos, or electronic confirmation)
- Perform daily vehicle checks (fuel, tyres, oil, cleanliness)
- Follow all road safety and traffic laws
- Handle customer queries professionally at delivery points
- Report delays, damages, or issues to the depot/manager
- Maintain accurate delivery records and paperwork
Requirements:
- Valid 7.5t or Class 2 driving licence (Category C)
- Good knowledge of local roads and navigation systems
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Physically fit (lifting parcels, frequent stops)
- Previous delivery driving experience (preferred but not always essential)
