We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support the implementation and review of personalised care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals under your care
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring proper documentation
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in the individual's condition
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary
- Support residents or clients with light domestic tasks to promote independence and comfort
- Communicate effectively with team members, residents, families, and external healthcare professionals
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols at all times
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple care responsibilities efficiently
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans digitally
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism when working with vulnerable individuals
- Valid driving licence is desirable for roles involving home care visits
- Experience working within a care home or home care environment is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures relevant to healthcare assistance roles
