Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a vibrant culinary environment. The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen area is clean, organised, and well-equipped for food preparation. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality and culinary sectors, particularly within hotels or restaurants.
Hours
* Part time position . Day time shifts and evenings available.
* Weekend availability is essential
Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs and kitchen staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Organise and store kitchen supplies and ingredients efficiently.
- Support the cooking team by preparing ingredients such as chopping vegetables or measuring out portions.
- Ensure that all areas of the kitchen are kept tidy and free from hazards.
- Help with the disposal of waste and recycling in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service periods.
Skills
- A strong willingness to help and support others within a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is advantageous but not essential
- Good understanding of hygiene standards and food safety practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
