We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, meticulous, and passionate individual to join our customer support team in the dual role of Logistics Manager & Support Engineer. Taking full ownership of the global logistics requirements for our prestigious LMP2 project as well as providing vital engineering support as part of the Customer Relations Track Support Team. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to work both in our Derbyshire headquarters as well as being an integral member of our away team supporting our LMP2 customers at multiple international motorsports events around the world and throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities
This unique, multi-faceted role blends high-level motorsport logistics co-ordination with trackside customer engineering support. The successful candidate will manage the complex global movement of leased racing engines and spare parts to top-tier LMP2 competitors. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Global Logistics & Supply Co-ordination
- International Shipping: Co-ordinate the end-to-end global movement of leased engine units and spare parts to international race circuits.
- Customs Compliance: Manage complex international customs documentation unique to leased racing products, including ATA Carnets, EPA exemptions, shipping invoices, customs declarations, and Power of Attorney (POA) requirements.
- Engine Rotation & Scheduling: Partner internally with Workshop Production, Commercial and Technical Engineering departments, and externally with our LMP2 customers, Championship organisers and Freight Forwarders to optimise engine rotation schedules and ensure maximum efficiency.
- Stock & Parts Management: Manage the spare-parts inventory for our track support vehicles ensuring the correct levels of stock are maintained as per the event / customer requirements. Coordinate with the relevant internal departments for the provision / ordering of spare parts in line with event schedules.
Trackside Engineering & Customer Support
- Technical Support: Act as a core member of the Track / Customer Support Team at global race and test events, providing direct, customer-facing technical support to our LMP2 race team clients.
- Data Analysis & Feedback: Utilise specialised data analysis software to analyse logged engine data, evaluating the engine's operating condition and providing critical feedback to our race team customers and Gibson’s internal track support engineering team.
- Mechanical & Calibration Intervention: Working in conjunction with the senior engineering team to deliver second-level mechanical assistance and apply secondary calibration knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve engine issues trackside under tight time constraints.
For the right candidate, Gibson Technology will provide structured training to bridge skill gaps. Candidates must have proven experience in either high-level motorsport logistics or trackside engineering. Training may include:
- LMP2 engine supply, planning and track support
- ATA Carnets, EPA exemptions and global freight
- Trackside engineering and data analysis
What we are looking for
You will be a natural at working collaborative across various teams and will also have some of the following skills:
- Proven experience within a similar motorsport environment.
- Strong practical mechanical competence.
- Experience of logistics, freight forwarding and customs procedures.
- Stock control and Inventory management.
- Experience with or an aptitude for learning motorsport data analysis and engine calibration systems.
- High degree of attention to detail, proactive and resourceful in solving problems, and a genuine passion for motorsport and logistics.
- Must be fully comfortable with extensive global travel to support international race contracts including high-profile endurance events like the Le Mans 24 Hours and Daytona 24 Hours.
- Ability to work closely with your work colleagues and customers both in our UK office and on location at international events.
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to work well under pressure and to react confidently to unforeseen / rapidly changing requirements.
