Job Overview
We are a rapidly growing, multi-site beauty and wellness group Oblique operating across four premium locations. As the business continues to scale, we are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Controller/ Finance Director to lead and modernise the finance function while driving operational and financial performance across the organisation.
This role calls for a strategic yet hands-on finance leader who moves well beyond traditional reporting — someone who actively shapes profitability, builds robust infrastructure, and contributes meaningfully to business growth and decision-making at the highest level.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own the company's financial strategy in alignment with long-term business objectives and expansion plans
- Lead and modernise the finance function — including systems, controls, reporting processes and automation initiatives
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial planning across all business units
- Build and maintain KPI frameworks to monitor operational and financial performance in real time
- Drive profitability improvement initiatives across all divisions — Hair, Nails and Aesthetics
- Analyse operational and financial metrics including labour costs, productivity, utilisation, margins and revenue performance
- Review and optimise payroll structures, commission models and cost efficiency across the business
- Deliver clear commercial insights and performance analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Partner closely with Operations, Marketing and Senior Leadership on pricing strategy and revenue growth
- Strengthen financial governance, compliance and internal reporting standards across the group
Skills
- Proven experience as a Finance Director, Financial Controller or Head of Finance in a fast-paced commercial environment
- Strong background in multi-site businesses — beauty, hospitality, healthcare, retail or other service-led sectors
- Commercially focused mindset with demonstrated ability to improve profitability and operational performance
- Advanced financial modelling, forecasting and analytical capabilities
- Deep understanding of payroll structures, commissions and labour cost optimisation
- Experience implementing or improving finance systems, reporting dashboards and automation processes
- Confident communicator with the ability to work directly with ownership and senior stakeholders
- Hands-on, proactive, detail-oriented and results-driven — strong personal ownership is essential
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification preferred but not essential depending on experience
- Russian-speaking preferred — a significant advantage given the business environment
