Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and experienced Cardiologist to join our dynamic Cardiology team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
This is a full-time, fixed-term post for 6 months, providing cover for a consultant sabbatical. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery and development of high-quality clinical services across cardiology.
The successful candidate will work closely with our team of specialist nurses and consultant colleagues, while contributing to the wider range of cardiology subspecialty services.
This post is offered at 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week and is for a fixed term of 6 months
The successful candidate will:
- Contribute to clinical services across the Cardiology department.
- Undertake cath lab sessions, including pacemaker implantation.
- Work collaboratively with the wider cardiology team to enhance service provision and promote innovation.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary working with specialist nurses, consultants and other members of the clinical team.
- Run General Cardiology outpatient clinics.
- Provide early diagnosis, treatment and appropriate follow-up for patients with cardiovascular disease.
- Contribute to improving waiting times, patient experience and Referral to Treatment (RTT) performance.
- Support the delivery of efficient, patient-centred outpatient services.
A new hospital has been planned for Watford. A new four roomed Endoscopy Unit at St Albans has been planned with a completion date of 2026.
