Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and organised SCM Assistant to join our Supply Chain Management team based at our meltshop, SMACC, in Sheffield. . This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in supply chain and logistics.
Reporting directly to the Back Office Manager, you will provide administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth running of supply chain activities. Full training will be provided.
We would also be happy to consider candidates who are currently studying and attend college or university on a day-release basis.
Ideally, the successful candidate will work the core hours of 08:30 – 17:00.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support operational needs.
Main Responsibilities
The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide administrative support to the Supply Chain team.
- Assist with data entry, record keeping, and maintaining accurate system information.
- Support purchasing, inventory, and logistics processes as required.
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers.
- Prepare reports and assist with supply chain documentation.
- Respond to enquiries and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Carry out other duties as reasonably required to support the department.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- An interest in supply chain, logistics, or business administration.
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Office applications.
- Can work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
- Eager to learn and develop new skills.
Desirable
- Previous experience in an office or administrative environment.
- SAP experience.
