Vehicle Polisher
Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Shift: Monday-Friday, 06:00-14:30 (30-minute unpaid break, 40 hours per week)
Pay Rate: £14.34 per hour (£29,827.20 per annum)
Contract: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
Are you a skilled Vehicle Polisher with experience in an automotive bodyshop setting? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
Working on behalf of one of the leading automotive companies in the UK, successful candidates will be polishing a range of vehicles within a busy and fast-paced bodyshop environment. This role also involves carrying out oven rectification work to ensure all vehicles meet the highest quality standards before leaving the workshop.
The Role:
Within the Vehicle Polisher role, you will be responsible for the below tasks:
- Undertaking the final polish of freshly painted vehicle panels.
- Rectifying paint defects, such as runs in the paint, using de-nibbing blocks.
- Flatting and polishing vehicle panels using a handheld dual action polisher.
- Carrying out oven rectification work, identifying and correcting paint imperfections following the baking process.
- Ensuring vehicles are finished to the correct standard ready for quality control inspection.
- Removing scratches, swirls, and other minor paint imperfections.
- Training new staff when required.
- Working efficiently to achieve productivity and quality targets.
The Person:
- Previous experience working within an automotive bodyshop is essential.
- Able to demonstrate experience polishing freshly painted vehicle panels and carrying out oven rectification work.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Able to work under your own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Comfortable working within a busy, fast-paced workshop environment.
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences.
