Job Title: Nursery Practitioner/Support Worker
Location: Wee Rascals Nursery, Craigearn Business Park, Morrison Way, Kintore AB51 0TH
Wage: £10.85-£14.35 (Wage dependent on experience).
Working Hours: 40 hours per week over 4 days.
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Practitioner/Support Worker to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about early years education and committed to supporting children’s development in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care and education for children aged 3–5 years
- Plan and implement engaging activities in line with the curriculum
- Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Monitor and record children’s progress and development
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment at all times
- Effectively support children with additional support needs and manage dysregulated behaviours with patience and professionalism
Essential Requirements:
- SVQ Level 3 / SCQF Level 9 in Childcare or willingness to work towards this.
- Caring, patient, and compassionate nature
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
- Reliable attendance
- Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of relevant early years frameworks and guidelines
Pay: £10.85-£14.35 per hour
